When you come to collect the camper you should bring with you:
Driving license of all the named drivers. Credit card in the name of the hirer. This should have enough funds to cover any of the security deposit options(maximum €2000).
Passport / I.D. Pick-up is possible after 4 pm.

Please let us know if you would like an earlier collection. We will look at our existing schedules and see if this is possible.

You must notify us as soon as you know about the delay. If you arrival runs into our out of office hours or if you fail to notify us of any delay you will be charged 50€ fee for staff waiting time.

The number of additional drivers is unlimited. We require full details of all drivers at the latest when handing over the camper (presentation of the original driver's licence and ID card).

You can also book and drive your camper with us as a young driver under the age of 21. The prerequisite is that you have had a driving licence class B for at least one year.

In addition to the daily rental price there is an obligatory one-time service fee of 149 € per rental.
This fee includes the following services:

• Extensive briefing at the handover site
• Operating fuels like motor oil, AdBlue and gas
• Exterior cleaning

With the Basic cover (included in every rental), the deposit is €2000. If you choose the Advanced protection plan, the deposit is reduced to €1000. If you book the Complete protection plan, the deposit is reduced to €500. The deposit can only be paid by credit card. After returning the camper, any damages will be deducted from the deposit and the difference refunded once the damages have been settled. If there are no damages, we release your deposit on the same day; the timing depends on your bank.

Our holiday bonus enables you to get 7% discount already from travelling more than 7 days with us. The longer you travel, the more you save. You can get up to 15% discount for travelling 22+ days.

We provide everything you need for a comfortable stay: bedding, towels, cooking utensils, dishes, cutlery, drive up wedges. Gas for heating and cooking and adblue are also included:)

Dog Adventure Kit
Planning to bring your furry friend? Our essential dog kit is required for a pet-friendly adventure and includes everything your pet needs to travel comfortably: protective seat covers, a ground anchor for secure outdoor time, a cozy bed, and food and water bowls. This kit also simplifies post-trip cleanup, ensuring a hassle-free return.

Extra Camping Chair
If your travel group expands beyond two, consider adding another foldable camping chair to your booking. It’s perfect for relaxing outdoors and enjoying São Miguel’s stunning natural
landscapes together.

Child Seats
Travel with peace of mind knowing your little ones are secure. Our child seats are suitable for children up to 150 cm or age 12. For smaller adventurers, toddler seats cater to ages 9 months
and up, supporting weights from 8 to 36 kilograms.

You will receive your camper freshly vacuumed, wiped and cleaned at handover. Please return it in the same condition to avoid additional charges. We understand that cleaning the van might be the last thing you want to do at the end of your holiday, which is why we offer a Cleaning Package for 99 €. If you bring the van back without cleaning and haven’t booked the package in advance, a cleaning fee of 129 € will be charged from your deposit.

Please also make sure to empty the toilet cassette; grey water can be released at our station. During the briefing, we will explain where and how to empty the toilet cassette. If the toilet cassette is not emptied, an additional surcharge applies (details in our Terms & Conditions).

Amped Campers welcomes your pet on your camper trip. If you bring your pet along, there is a service fee of 99 €. As a free extra, you’ll receive our dog package for your four-legged friend, which includes a dog bed, seat covers and bowls.

Wild Camping in Portugal is allowed again. According to the Highway Code (articles 48 and 50-A), overnight stays are allowed up to a maximum of 48 hours in the same municipality, but they are prohibited in Natura 2000 and other protected areas. Overnight stays between 21:00 and 7:00 are allowed.

Failure to comply with the law can result in fines from €30 to €600. The autonomous islands of the Azores follow the same Portuguese laws, and penalties can be severe.

There are places like Furnas and Sete Cidades where motorhomes can park and use some facilities. However, these areas are not designed specifically for campervans — there is no water hose to fill the tank, no grid connection, and no proper disposal for grey water. This means you will usually have to stay in the parking lot. Luckily, our campers are built with great autonomy, so you can explore the island freely without being tied to a specific campsite.

Water can be filled at our station or at any gas station free of charge. We also provide a jerry can in case there is no hose available and you run out of water.

You do not need to refill the fresh water, the gas bottle, or recharge the batteries. However, the toilet cassette must be emptied and cleaned, and grey water can be released at our station. The diesel tank must be full before drop-off (Full-to-Full policy).

We explain and show you how to do this during the handover of the van.

Standard drop-off is between 8:00 and 10:00 on your final day. If you’d like to enjoy a bit more time, a late return may be possible if the camper isn’t booked for the same day. We’ll confirm this option with you at pick-up or, at the latest, 24 hours before your return. Please let us know your preferred drop-off time as early as possible so we can adjust our schedule.

When you pick up your camper, it will be in pristine condition—thoroughly vacuumed and with all surfaces wiped clean, ensuring you start your adventure in the utmost comfort. We ask that you return the camper in the same clean condition to avoid any additional charges. Cleaning may not be the most exciting part of your trip, which is why we offer convenient options to help you manage this responsibility.

Pre-booked Cleaning Package: For those who prefer to avoid the end-of-trip cleanup, we offer a convenient cleaning package. When booked at the time of your reservation or vehicle pick-up, this service is available for €99. Booking this package in advance allows us to schedule our cleaning in the most efficient manner, keeping costs down and ensuring all campers are promptly ready for the next adventure.

Last-Minute Cleaning Service: If you return the camper without pre-booking the cleaning package and it requires interior cleaning, a charge of €129 will apply due to the need for last-minute scheduling and organization. To minimize your costs and ensure a smooth return process, we recommend booking the cleaning package when you make a reservation or pick up the camper.

Exterior Cleaning: While exterior washing is not required, please ensure the camper is not excessively dirty as this can obscure potential damages. If the camper is returned excessively dirty, we will still perform an initial inspection, but the full vehicle check-in and final inspection process will only be completed after the camper has been properly cleaned. This delay in the full check-in process could subsequently delay the return of your deposit.

In all cases, we require the camper to be returned broom clean, meaning it should be tidy and free of trash. If the toilet cassette is unemptied or returned heavily soiled, additional surcharges will apply as outlined in our Reference price table.

When it’s time to return your camper, please make sure it is cleaned and that all personal belongings are removed from the van, including cabinets, storage areas, and the fridge. There should be no food or rubbish left inside either. Ensure the camper comes back with a full tank of fuel. If you prefer, we offer a refuelling service for a flat fee of €30 plus the cost of the fuel, which allows you to return the camper without stopping to refuel.

For an even smoother return, you don't need to worry about topping up the fresh water tank or adding Ad Blue. We take care of these details so you can maximize your remaining time enjoying your adventures.

If the camper breaks down or you’re involved in an accident, please inform us immediately. Roadside assistance is available 24/7, and the contact details are listed in the insurance policy kept in the glovebox. In case of an accident, you must also notify the local police and complete the European Accident Report provided.

Please note: in the event of damage, we reserve the right to charge the deposit in full until we receive a confirmed repair quote for parts and labour.
